Beat the Winter Blues...Brighten Up Your Skincare Game
So it's a New Year and if you're like me you've decided against New Year's Resolutions and decided on setting goals. One of my goals is to shake up my skincare routine. Admittedly, I'm not as faithful about taking care of my skin as I should be. I do my best care taking when I am testing a new product for a line!
What I want is a quick and dirty (pardon the pun) routine that can meet my needs and still take care of my skin. How's that sound to you?
1. A cleanser is a must! Regardless of skin type you need to find a facial cleanser that suits your skin's needs and take care of the dirt and debris your skin collects throughout the day.
2. Exfoliate. If you can find a cleanser that has a mild exfoliant in it, GREAT! An exfoliant will clear your skin of dry, dead skin cells and help give you bright, glowing skin.
3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! This step is very important, especially for mature skin. Dry skin appears dull and lifeless, but when you moisturize you put a certain "glow" to the skin you just finished exfoliating.
These 3 steps are just the "I'm in a hurry" skincare routine. You can add to it by using toner and serum, or moisturizers for under your eyes too. But the most important step you want to take is sunscreen. Even if you're going out on a cloudy day, or live in a climate where there isn't alot of sun, you want to make sure to use sunscreen. Especially if you're using AHA's!
So take these tips and add to them however you see fit. But whatever you do DON'T neglect your skin. Skincare is part of Self Care, and you deserve the time!
